Bloom is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with fellow Michigan-based Edison Manufacturing and Engineering. This collaboration aims to elevate American contract manufacturing and assembly, optimizing production for multiple electric mobility brands through shared networks. By combining forces, Bloom and Edison are set to enhance efficiencies and offer competitive unit economies for brands scaling their manufacturing.

Bloom’s platform aggregates brands and OEMs, aligning them with existing and growing domestic service providers, including contract manufacturers. This results in streamlined production lines and shared costs of domestic end-to-end capabilities. The shared collaborative ethos of Bloom and Edison exemplifies our mission to create a concentrated network effect with industry-leading standardization, resulting in a more competitive per-unit cost basis.

Edison Manufacturing is a visionary contract manufacturer specializing in the assembly of complex mobility and mobility-adjacent products not suited for traditional, highly automated assembly. They cater to annual production volumes ranging from small-batch to tens of thousands, offering flexible timelines and order minimums that are more capital-efficient than traditional manufacturing models. Leveraging decades of automotive production experience, Edison raises the standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

“Edison is focused on providing a customer- and product-centric manufacturing solution that serves our customers’ needs here in the US. This partnership with Bloom allows us to expand our value offering, providing an exceptional, end-to-end solution for brands throughout the mobility space,” said Brandon Bartneck, VP & GM of Edison Manufacturing and Engineering.

“At Bloom, we want the brands in our network and their customers to have confidence in knowing where these vehicles come from and to feel invested in the places and people that made, delivered, and serviced them. We’re working together with service producers like Edison to build American products more efficiently, improving unit economies by aggregating demand,” said Justin Kosmides, Bloom Co-Founder.

Stay tuned as Bloom and Edison Manufacturing work together to drive innovation and efficiency in American contract manufacturing for the electric mobility industry!
