Cardinal Cycling Group (CCG) has been one the leading forces in the growth of the domestic bicycle manufacturing ecosystem, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Bloom platform in an exciting partnership that expands Bloom’s national network to South Carolina. While Bloom is proud to be headquartered in Detroit, our highest mission is to unlock the full potential of American mobility by connecting every uniquely specialized hub of manufacturing, assembly, distribution, and service nationwide.
The partnership between Bloom and Cardinal Cycling Group will facilitate a growing number of micromobility companies relocating manufacturing, logistics, and service to Bloom’s vertically integrated platform. Bloom offers vertical integration via aggregation and industry-leading standardization by providing brands with a network of high-quality, vetted service providers across the marketplace.
Over the last year, Cardinal Cycling Group acquired a 140,000 square-foot facility and has assembled the investment and infrastructure to initiate the cluster of advanced manufacturing and distribution within Spartanburg County, SC. For more information on CCG’s expanding partnership network and acquisitions, see Bicycle Retailer’s recent coverage here.
“Spartanburg County, SC is the perfect environment for this cycling and micromobility cluster to form; With excellent port connectivity to Europe and 2-day delivery times to the eastern half of the United States, combined with a manufacturing heritage, scalable workforce, and one of the nation’s best cycling cultures. A regional approach, like that of the 45+ company-strong Portugal Bicycle Valley, is the model for creating these viable ecosystems,” says Tony Karklins, CEO of Cardinal Cycling Group
“As the American mobility industry enters a period of maturity, Bloom’s network will be synergized to ensure that the future of transportation is economically resilient and environmentally responsible. Our turn-key network allows a European-based brand to manage sales, marketing, and finance from their current HQ and let Bloom manage the inbound logistics, assembly, fulfillment, and aftersales service in the Americas.” Chris Nolte, Co-founder of Bloom
In its role as a movement leader in reshoring the industry, Bloom is currently in conversation with industry leaders and local governments to further support its expansion plans, and working with partners from across the mobility community to create a more reliable, sustainable, and resilient domestic market.
